What does the new Five-Year Plan provide for?

The new Five-Year Plan for Regional and National Tourism Infrastructure began at the middle of July and will enable the Ministry for the Economy to continue supporting players in the Luxembourg tourism industry.

The new plan which will be developed for the period 2018 – 2022 will now benefit from a 60 million euros budget, 33% more than the previous program which will come to its end on December 31st.

The program will subsidize projects in the tourism industry carried out by the municipalities, private companies in Luxembourg, trade unions and non-profit organizations. Hotels and other accommodation units will also benefit from these subsidies.

A novelty of this year’s program is the support which will be given to rural businesses. Investors opening hotels in rural areas will benefit from a 20% subsidy on the work carried out during the construction of the projects. Campsites will also benefit from a 20% subsidy rate.
